Favorite Mexican candy, that’s a hard one to answer.
Being a Mexican candy lover, I have gone trough different phases.
I started with home made milk candy continued with Mexican chocolate and now I love lollipops.
What has never changed is my love for candy. My wife and I used to run a candy stand at the swap meet for a few years.
Business went up and down but what kept us going was the joy in people’s faces when they found the candy they used to eat back in Mexico and have not eaten for many years.
Now we want to share that same joy with people who do not have access to this candy in other places.
The variation of candy is vast from dulce de leche to tamarind candy all are delicious.
What might be exotic for some people is spicy candy or candy with alcohol, borrachitos.
Some of the candy sadly cannot be ship because it’s made at home, however I come from a family who has a tradition of making candy.
The good news is that we have recipes showing how to make these delicious candies.
Candy like, Jamoncillo, Chilito, Calabaza dulce, Mango with chamoy, Mangoneadas and more.
If you are concerned about lead in candies you can read all about it
here: California Department of Public Health.
To answer the question of what’s my favorite Mexican candy for now I
would say milk candy and chongos.
